Setting Up E-Mail Services With Microsoft Outlook Express

In this page we at The Point Networks will show you how to set up using our E-Mail services with an E-Mail client. In This Instance we are using the most popular program Outlook Express. This is a free program that comes with Internet Explorer, this program is probably already on your computer.


Step 1
Open Outlook Express Go to the tools menu and then go to the Accounts menu item As Pictured Below.




Step 2
In the second step click on the Mail tab, next click on the ADD Button, a menu will pop open then click on Mail As Pictured Below.





Step 3
Next a wizard pops up on this screen all you have to do is enter Your Full Name (EX: Jeff Smith) Then Click Next. As Pictured Below.





Step 4
Next enter the E-Mail adress that you have set up through us. (EX: Joe@baconbit.net) (EX: Jeff@thepointfx.com) Then Click the Next Button. As Pictured below.





Step 5
Next you are going to enter the name of the POP and SMTP servers, enter them EXACTLY as they appear below; unless your E-Mail address is (baconbit.net) or (imitationbaconbit.net) if this is the case substitute the domains accordingly. Look At the Diagram Below.





Step 6

Next enter your account Username and Password.
You will be entering your username followed by the @ character and the domain, in the Account Name Field (EX: Jeff@thepointfx.com) The @symbol and the domain is not needed Only if your E-Mail address is @baconbit.net.

After you have entered all the necessary information click next.

Note It is not reccomended that you have Outlook Express remember your password if this computer is used by other people.



Step 7

Click Finish





Step 8

If everything is done correctly you should see the following screen with your new E-Mail account listed. It may differ depending on your domain.





Final Step

Now, so you can set up proper mail handling, hit the "Properties" button in the previous step above, then hit the "Advanced" tab and set the settings as you see them in the following picture. This will allow you to have a copy of your e-mails available to you when you use the system remotely...
